What makes the Kaiserstuhl fountains so special and can they tell their own story? For centuries, the fountains served as the only place for the population to obtain drinking water, for washerwomen to work and exchange the latest information, and for farmers and horsemen to water their animals. With the construction of the water supply, the fountains lost their importance as a daily meeting place. Today, the fountains delight the eyes of passers-by and invite them to linger.
