Description
The Moll family is on vacation in a small village in the mountains. The five of them are having a wonderful time at the village festival until the wind suddenly blows. Soon thick raindrops fall, turning into torrential rain. Within a very short time, the mountain streams become raging rivers, carrying tons of debris and whole trees with them. The water rages through the streets, splashes out of the sewers and sweeps everything away. The fire department, civil defense and others quickly arrive to help. The Molls are right in the middle. They use a rubber dinghy to rescue animals from the floods. Papa Moll helps where he can, Mama takes care of a flock of sheep, the boys help with the school building and Evi rescues an old woman from her flooded house. And is constantly on the lookout for the missing Tschips. After a few hours, the rain stops. The big clean-up begins and everyone pitches in. To the Molls’ delight, little Chips reappears! The Molls have never had a vacation like this before!
This exciting book gives children an insight into the events surrounding such natural disasters, which are also becoming increasingly common in Switzerland. For children aged 5 and over and all fans.
